WOVEN:
An intergenerational project created by Siobhan Lawless & Kate Bookallil in order to inspire connection and storytelling between seniors and young people. Using drama as a tool to encourage conversation, create compassion and stimulate joy!
The offical project of Woven was completed in 2024. We are hoping to run some more session in 2025, but do not have the dates set yet. Please stay tuned.
Woven sessions can be booked as a community event, corporate session, birthday party or casual get together.
A little extra info on the what to expect:
The Woven sessions run a little bit like a drama class with breaks for tea and chatting. We’re really excited to have the kids from the Addison Rd Early Learning Centre joining us for the session on the 21st November for play and stories.
There will not be any kind of performance, other than a little bit of sharing within the session.
The primary objective of this project is simply to connect community. The secondary part of Woven is about storytelling and the sharing of ideas, philosophies, history, feelings etc.
The sessions are designed to be fun, casual, judgement free, relaxed and each exercise will be optional.
We’ll play a few drama games that may involve some improvisation and silliness. We’ll do a few exercises around simple story telling and we’ll have a good yarn.
“Thanks for making this beautiful experience for us.
I felt energised and inspired. The sharing of personal stories was moving and fascinating and the little kids were pure fun.”
